Rev. Octavious Wilson

Leading with the heart of a servant.

Rev. Octavious R. Wilson is a man after God’s own heart. He is a servant leader and a prolific preacher and teacher of God’s Holy Word. Rev. Wilson was born and raised on Chicago’s south side and lived most of his life there. He attended both grammar and high school at private institutions and later on received an Associate’s degree in Business Management as well as a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration. After accepting the call to preach, Rev Wilson went back to school and received his Master’s of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary graduating in 2017.

Rev. Wilson is a dedicated and enthusiastic servant of God. He has served in many capacities in the church beginning as a youth leader of the Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) at Carter Temple CME church in Chicago, where he participated in youth Bible Studies and Leadership conferences all over the United States. After his years as a youth, he took a turn for the worse and began to fall under the influence of some people in his community that lead him on a path of destruction. As a part of this destructive life style, he witnessed one of his closest friends die to gun violence. This experience pushed Rev Wilson back towards God and as a result, he has dedicated his life to saving individuals that are being led down the path of a destructive life.

After his return, Rev Wilson has been involved in every facet of the church in an attempt to give God his entire life. He started as a Young Adult Bible Study teacher at his home church, Youth and Young Adult Sunday school teacher, member of the budget committee, and served on both the media and vision teams. Later he was elevated to be Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor at Carter. Since then he has been an invited revivalist, conference preacher/ teacher, curriculum developer for the National Youth and Young Adult Conference of the CME church, Pastor of a Grace Deliverance Mission church in Bloomington, IL and now the Pastor of the Israel Metropolitan CME Church in Gary, IN.

Rev. Wilson has embraced his mission for the Kingdom of God by taking leadership in many capacities and is adamant about being used as a conduit for God to be a prophetic voice in this season of Gods church as it is being challenged to stay alive and relevant. Rev. Wilson has a desire to help the church not only stay alive but to grow in ways that eyes have not seen. Through continuous outreach and discipleship, Rev. Wilson believes he can reach people outside the church and create a community of believers who can be used to bring souls to Christ.

Rev. Octavious Wilson married the woman of his dreams, Mrs. Elisa J. Wilson and they together have one son, Jovanni. In his spare time he enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with family. Rev. Wilson inspires to be a beacon of light for this next generation and share the love of God to all he can reach. His prayer is that God’s Kingdom will come and His will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.
